Biographical Information

In August of 1929, Amelia Earhart placed third in the All-Women's Air Derby, behind Louise Thaden and Gladys O'Donnell, which was the first transcontinental air race for women (from Santa Monica, California to Cleveland, Ohio). Earhart helped organize the race.
