[Original Abstract from Lecture]

We are increasingly faced with crises that “go viral”: multiplication of terrorist cells; epidemics of hacked websites; toxic blooms. Our instinct is to increase control from the top down—building walls, eavesdropping on citizens, and dropping bombs—but our best chances for improved life comes from the bottom up. Generative justice offers an alternative framework for rethinking ethical action and ensuring a sustainable future.
