This series contains materials pertaining to Lauer's development of the Rhetoric and Composition program at Purdue University. Types of materials include program documents, books published by graduate students, course evaluations, and a significant amount of pedagogical materials related to two foundational program courses, Rhetorical History and Composition Theory.

Scope and Contents

The Composition Theory course sub-series contains materials used to prep and teach the first required core course in the Rhetoric and Composition doctoral program. This course was taught by Lauer for over 20 years. Materials include opening class notes, schedules, assigned reading materials, bibliographies, historiographies, lecture notes, and sample quizzes. The purpose of this course was to introduce the field of Rhetoric and Composition as a theoretical and research discipline.
