Scope and Contents
Materials include one black and white photograph of Pickels with three other men at the Purdue University Airport. One of the men is Robert Lanson Dunham, roommate of Pickels. Also included is a clipping from the Purdue Exponent discussing Pickels's death.

Biographical Information
George Pickels was a Council on Aviation Accreditation (CAA) student, a program offered through the Department of Aviation Technology. assigned to complete training at Purdue University but was not a student at the university. He was from Evansville, Indiana. He died September 17, 1940 in a flight accident, the day before his final examination. He was the roommate of Robert Lanson Dunham.
